Antoine Griezmann has revealed he has “doubts” over a potential future move to the Premier League.

Manchester United are interested in signing the Atletico Madrid forward should he become available in the summer, with the club reportedly willing to meet his £85m release clause.

Griezmann is under contract with Atletico until 2021 after signing an extension last year.

The 25-year-old has revealed he does not have the same desire for a move as he did when he left Real Sociedad for Atletico in 2014.

“With Real Sociedad, I felt that I needed to leave. For the moment, I do not have that need or desire,” he told French radio station RMC.

“Who knows how the season will finish. If it finishes badly, maybe I will ask myself the question. For the moment, it is not relevant.”

Should Griezmann leave in the summer, United are unlikely to be the only club interested in his services, but the France international is unsure where he would move next.

“I am asking myself where I could go. In Spain, there is Barcelona and Real Madrid,” he said.

“Barcelona have the three [Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez] up top. Real Madrid, that is impossible because of the club I am at. I think that between them, there is a pact [not to conduct transfers between the clubs].

“Germany, the league does not attract me much. France, not for the moment.

“And England, I have a lot of doubts about my private life. Everything like rain, bad weather… I need to feel happy outside.”

Griezmann’s impressive 2016 saw the striker pick up the La Liga Best Player award before being named Euro 2016’s Player of the Tournament in France – where he also won the Golden Boot – though the hosts eventually succumbed to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in the final.

That was followed by a third-placed finish for Griezmann in the Ballon d’Or behind Ronaldo and Lionel Messi – an impressive feat which he credits to Atletico coach Diego Simeone.

“He’s changed me,” Griezmann said in an interview with FIFA.com. “He’s brought so many things to my game that it’s hard to even begin to say what they are.

“Let’s just say that I wouldn’t have been regarded as one of the best players in the world if it weren’t for him.

“More than anything he’s helped me to be more effective in front of goal, to take every chance that comes my way, and, of course, to run and run and work hard for the team. You can’t make it at Atletico if you don’t do that.” source
