Overwatch character Doomfist has been given a new update within the PTR.
Blizzard is already ringing the changes ahead of the full Doomfist release date on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Just days after the launch of Doomfist on PC, Blizzard has made a big change to his Rocket Punch move.
Doomfist’s Rocket Punch initially propelled him forward by around 30 metres.
However, since the PTR balance update went live, Doomfist’s Rocket Punch now travels around 20 metres.
Blizzard will continue to make these kind of balance changes while Doomfist is in the PTR.
Once the studio is happy with how Doomfist performs, the new character will then be released in full.
This could happen within the next 24 hours, or it could take weeks.
Doomfist is described as a mobile, powerful fighter whose attacks include a Seismic Slam and four-shot hand cannon.
“Doomfist’s cybernetics make him a highly mobile, powerful frontline fighter,” the official description reads.
“His primary attack is the Hand Cannon; this four-shot weapon fires projectiles from Doomfist’s knuckles one a time or in a single blast.
“With his secondary attack, Rocket Punch, he charges forward and delivers a devastating blow, knocking back any opponent it connects with and dealing extra damage if the enemy is hurled into a wall.
Doomfist also has a Seismic Slam ability, which knocks opponents toward him so he can deal further damage.
Meteor Strike, meanwhile, drop into a targeted area and deal massive amounts of damage.
The only bad news to come from the Doomfist update is that the new Overwatch character isn’t voiced by Terry Crews.
The actor had previously expressed an interest in playing the role, while fans had been lobbying for his inclusion.
“Who wants to hear me do the voice of Doomfist for real?” Crews once tweeted.
Unfortunately, however, Blizzard has gone in a different direction, hiring veteran actor Sahr Ngaujah.
