He admitted he was ‘confused but excited’ to build a 4,080-piece elaborate Disney castle for his daughter Harper last week.

And ever the model father, David Beckham looked triumphant as he finally showed off the finished result of the 3D Lego structure – six days after he started building it.

The footballer, 49, shared a smiling shirtless selfie with the castle as he boasted that his six-year-old daughter was going to have a ‘nice surprise’ in the morning.

Happy family: David and Victoria been spending plenty of time with their brood recently, in particular Brooklyn (centre) – as he prepares to head to university in NYC in September

Posing happily in front of the castle, he posted the heart-warming Instagram snap on Tuesday.

The father-of-four captioned it: ‘1am done… Someone’s gonna have a nice surprise in the morning zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.’

And it wasn’t just his fatherly generosity that got fans talking, as many followers picked up on his new haircut.

His fans compared him to Kurt Cobain as they inspected the longer ‘do and his middle parting.

Thick as thieves: David was no doubt keen to show off the result of his week-long efforts to Harper, writing: ‘Someone’s gonna have a nice surprise in the morning!’

And it’s no wonder David was so pleased with his handiwork, as he started building the £299.99 castle last week.

He Instagrammed a shot of himself sitting on a sun-lounger staring at a thick manual of instructions on Wednesday.

He joked in the caption: ‘Page 1 of the Disney castle , 4000 pieces 490 pages of instructions I look confused but I’m so excited.’

David is currently enjoying a fun-filled summer in the States, having been spotted at the golf course with his four kids last week.

Quite the treat! He threw a tea party for her birthday at Buckingham Palace, which attracted much controversy due to its lavish nature

And he was spotted enjoying some time alone earlier in the week as he took his beloved motorbike for a spin around Los Angeles.

David, who is father of sons Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, and Cruz, 12, and five-year-old daughter Harper, is known for his love of motorcycling, and is often seen riding the impressive vehicle when in the US with his family.

Back in 2011, it was reported the former England player had the bike specially made, after sharing an image of his dream motor to his Facebook page, and asking fans to help him identify it.

His manly day out marks just one of many activities enjoyed in LA so far – having taken his kids Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, fourteen, Cruz, 12, and Harper, six, to the golf course on Friday.

Chocolate connoisseur: Meanwhile, Cruz Beckham shared a Snapchat video of himself busy in the lab as he got to work melting some chocolate

The boys were seen embarking on a competitive round in the sunshine, while their younger sister simply ran along after them and excitedly watched.

He told TooFab: ‘I’m nervous about moving away from my family, that’s one thing that I’m really scared of, but I feel like it’ll be good for me to live on my own for a bit and really knuckle down on what I really love and study.’

Brooklyn, who describes his father as his ‘absolute hero’ and his mother as ‘beautiful’ in his coffee table book, What I See, admitted that he was nervous at the prospect of leaving his family behind – as they split their time between London and LA.

The talented teen – the eldest of the four Beckham children – added that he was grateful for his parents backing, explaining: ‘They’re so supportive.

‘My mum and dad really helped me as well with this book so I couldn’t have done it without them.’
